Since its charter in 1919 Midway’s purpose has always been to glorify Jesus Christ and spread his word to all with whom we come in contact. From its roots as a Sunday School sponsored by the Methodist Episcopal Church, Midway has evolved to a dynamic church on the move. We offer two services with two different styles of worship every week. Both of which are video recorded and copies are available for anyone.
The 9am Contemporary Service is held in our Multi-purpose building and is geared to be more culturally relevant to today’s generational preferences and features a modern, casual but upbeat service lead by our praise band 12 Gates and pastor, Rev. Burt Williams. This engaging biblical based worship service incorporates modern ministry media, inspiring music and message for all worshipers to glorify God. A coffee house with fellowship is provided before the service.
At 11am, we offer a more formal Traditional Service in our Sanctuary that includes creeds, prayers, singing of Methodist Hymns, scripture and sermon. This service is also led by pastor Burt Williams, Music Director, Susan Steele and our Chancel Choir, with occasional special music by our Hand bell Choir and Children’s Choir.
At MUMC, youth and children are a big focus. We believe in their Christian development and nurture their growth as future leaders in Christ. Children’s Church and nursery are offered during both worship services, led by our Children's Minister, Alison VanWieren. Sunday School is offered at 10am in between both services. Our thriving Youth Ministry meets each Sunday afternoon in their own designated youth facility led by our Youth Minster, William VanWieren. Various activities and events are provided for our youth and children's spiritual growth, fun and fellowship throughout the year.
